The recently launched Little Nico, built for a Sydney yachtsman, sports a full inventory of Doyle Stratis ICE sails. Designed by Shaw Yacht Design and built by Van Munster Yachts, the 11m yacht has been designed as a fast, high-performance day sailor that will suit the conditions of the Sydney harbour.
Shaw's design takes inspiration from the Shaw 10 metre Orbit, first launched and campaigned by Mike Sanderson in New Zealand and now based in Sydney. Development of systems such as the electric/hydraulic canting keel and refinement of the sail handling systems will make for a nimble yet powerful boat.
The owner worked with Doyle's Justin Ferris to develop a strong sail inventory for the boat. Her carbon ICE inventory included a mainsail, J1, J2, J3, A2, A5 and a fractional zero (fro) sail.
